About the festival
As the stars fall, films rise over the sea twinkle indie film ~ ♬
Jeongdongjin Independent Film and Video Festival (JIFF) is a summer festival planed by
The Association of Korean Film and Video, and Gangneung Cinema Theque since 1999.
It is an outdoor film festival, held in the yard of Jeongdong elementary school,
every first weekend of August. To communicate with more audience,
every independent film in this festival is free.
Mascot
A Girl with Umbrella Ribs
As an outdoor film festival,
the biggest concern of JIFF would be the dynamic weather.
A girl with umbrella rips came from audience's wishes for the clear sky with thousands of stars.
She is a guardian of this independent, alternative,
and romantic festival with her magic wand, umbrella rips.
